Melody, I noticed a link to a blog on one of my friend's blogs. It's a similar story to yours and they are going through the same process. I thought you would like to see it for yourself.
I have enjoyed reading all of your comments. Dad and I were just talking on the phone last night about all of this. I can remember when I was about 5 or 6 years old and I saw Melody chewing on a raw sweet potato. I told my parents latter on that day and they informed me it was probably because you had lived in PNG. Is it true about the sweet potato or is my memory playing tricks on me?
It won't matter what car I drove,
What kind of house I lived in,
How much was in my bank account,
Nor what my clothes looked like,
But the world may be a little
better because I was important
in the life of a child.
We are Rob, Melody, Shaelyn and Aiden. Rob and I have been married for 28 years! We have been blessed far more than we deserve. Our two precious children were gifts from God, given to us through the miracle of adoption. We treasure every day we have together as a family and consider ourselves "Doubly Blessed".
Every call has a beginning. A quiet moment when God whispers a promise to a mother’s heart. A holy place where a father bows and faithfully accepts the journey set before him. A miraculous morning that unexpectedly dawns…Casting its first light on a chosen threshold. A gentle knock..a closed door opens. A sacred invitation sent by the Father..Leads to the other side of the world. Where lonely hearts stare out orphanage windows Praying for someone to care..And then one morning, On an ordinary day An orphan’s life changes...God sends them a second chance...Through you.. --author unknown"

Love the Chinese theme baby shower. I'm glad you had such a nice turn out. Still praying the adoption process goes smoothly and swiftly.

Yes you remembered correctly. Eating raw sweet potatoes was common in New Guinea. They were called "cow-cow's".
